Trivia Night
Make sure you come along on Saturday, September 20! It will be held at Wholefoods
on the Clayton campus from 7pm. BYO snack food. Entry costs $10 and tickets
will be on sale from this Tuesday at CBT and TNT. It will also be possible to
buy tickets on the night.
We will be raising $300 to sponsor an international visitor to come to SPRTE
– many students from the South Pacific don’t have the same opportunities
that we do in Australia to attend camps or engage in many forms of ministry
training so it would great for us to help them out. As I have just mentioned
above, extra money will go towards subsidies for Monash students wanting to
attend SPRTE. Facebook listing here.
AGM
The Monash Christian Union’s AGM will be held just
after Tuesday Night
Training on Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30pm in the Menzies Building, room
W216.
Hopefully the occasion won’t be interrupted by a hurricane or news of
a teen pregnancy. It will be a time for us to reflect upon and review the year
that’s been, thank God for the work He has done, pray together and elect
our new committee for 2009. The positions on committee are President, Vice-President,
Treasurer, Secretary, Prayer Secretary and the Member Without Portfolio.
If you would like to nominate someone for any of those positions please contact
the Returning Officer, Ruth Featonby (featonby_ruth@hotmail.com), for a nomination
form. Nominations close on Tuesday, September 9. In order to nominate someone,
stand as a candidate or vote at the AGM you must be a club member. If you would
like to sign up for membership please contact our Secretary, Robert Koh (r_koh_1988@hotmail.com).
In order to vote at the meeting you must be a member of at least five day’s
standing so you have until Thursday, September 11 to join the club.
