Tuesday Night Training

TNT - practical training courses

We believe that practical training is one of the greatest things that we offer Christian students at uni. We want students to go through uni, not just being trained in how to do a future job, but it also being trained in living as a Christian for the rest of life after uni. To this end, we run Tuesday Night Training (or TNT).

Semester 1, 2012

TNT for Semester 1, 2012 will commence in week 1 (25 February) from 5 to 7pm (with $5 for dinner). From week 2 onwards, we will be meeting in the Rotunda (Building 8) in R6. .

Course Options:

Promoting the Gospel

Do you think that evangelism is important?

This course is about evangelism.

It is run by Stu, whom you should not leave your computer with unsupervised.

This is a particularly good course for you if this is your first time at TNT.

Postcard from Palestine

This course will equip you to read the Old Testament in context. It will also help you to be able to communicate what the Old Testament says to your friends.

We will be looking at the book of Haggai.

This course will be very interactive, and a lot of fun!

Responding to New Atheism

In recent years, there has been public attention on figures such as Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and others. These people are very outspoken critics of religion in general and Christianity in particular.

Actually, the 'atheism' part is not new, and the arguments that New Atheists use have some weaknesses. What is new is that New Atheism argues that religion isn't just mistaken, but that it's bad for society.

In the letter 1 Peter, Peter says that we should always have a defence for the hope that we have. The question is: how should we repond to the New Atheism.

Introducing God - Starts week 2, 5pm
